Information, in poker, is used to describe information that is useful in making a decision about how to play a hand. In general, players in later position have more information than players in earlier position, because they don't have to act until more players have already acted.

However, there are many types of information available to an observant poker player:

  • the amount other players are betting
  • the upcards that other players have, or the upcards they had prior to folding
  • the number of players likely to participate in the current betting round
  • the eagerness with which other players are betting or preparing to bet
  • other tells that players may have
  • any cards which have been mucked face-up, accidentally or otherwise
