The Horizon Poker Network is a group of poker websites operating with a shared player pool. Everygame.eu[1] and JuicyStakes.eu[2] are the largest and most well-known operators on the platform. Everygame and Juicy Stakes cater to the U.S. poker market primarily, but both accept players from many areas of the world. Everygame and Juicy Stakes are both licensed out of Curacao.

The Horizon Poker Network was established with its current name in 2016. The network consists of Every Game Poker and Juicy Stakes Poker, as well as a few other smaller operators. It should be noted that Everygame was formerly known as Intertops; the name was changed in late 2021. Intertops has been a reputable operator in the online gaming space for many years, having accepted its first bet back in 1996.

The poker rooms on the Horizon Poker Network utilize software that was developed by Cake Poker. A downloadable poker client is available on Windows PCs and players can access an instant play version through their browser. The Random Number Generator, or RNG, has been certified as fair by a company known as Technical Systems Testing.[3]Everygame offers two full-fledged casinos and a sportsbook. Juicy Stakes has a smaller casino within the poker client.

History[]

Cake Poker first opened in 2006 catering primarily to American players; the software utilized on both platforms was developed by Cake Poker. The site gained substantial traction following UIGEA legislation that forced many competitors to leave the U.S. market. Unfortunately, Cake Poker soon became associated with numerous questionable skins including Doyle's Room and Lock Poker.

Lock Poker was unable to pay players and became defunct. Doyle's Room was unable to pay their players and had their player pool transferred to Americas Cardroom. Cake Poker soon changed its name to Win Cake, but the name change did not improve its poor reputation. U.S. players were moved over to Juicy Stakes. Unfortunately, Juicy Stakes struggled to pay cash-outs consistently and their reputation went downhill.[4]

In 2013, an entity known as Zagox Management purchased Juicy Stakes. Zagox was reported to be related to Intertops, which is now known as Everygame. After the new owner took control, Juicy Stakes began to pay out to winners consistently and quickly. The network changed names to its current moniker, the Horizon Poker Network, in early 2016.

Poker Games[]

The Horizon Poker Network offers a variety of cash games and tournaments across multiple stake levels. Game types available include Texas Hold'em, Omaha, and Omaha Hi/Lo. No-limit, fixed-limit, and pot-limit games are spread across all variants. Blinds are offered as low as $0.02/$0.04 and as high as $100/$200.

Unfortunately, high-stakes players may struggle to find action. It is rare to find a game higher than $1/$2 blinds running. Even during peak hours, it is unlikely to see more than 20 ring tables running at a time. Most of the action is concentrated at the micro-stakes levels, there are generally multiple small stakes cash games and multi-table tournaments running. Sit and goes are also on offer, but players may have difficulty finding enough players. Most SNG action is below the $10 buy-in level.

The Sunday Sundowner is one of the largest buy-in tournaments regularly offered on the Horizon Poker Network. The Sunday Sundowner sports a $125 buy-in and a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool. As the name suggests, the tournament runs weekly on Sundays. The Horizon Poker Network offers a few other larger tournaments throughout the year as well.

Promotions[]

The Horizon Poker Network operators offer a flat 36% rakeback across both of their primary poker skins.[5] Juicy Stakes and Every Game both offer welcome deposit bonuses of 200% up to $1,000. The bonuses clear in increments as points are earned. It should be noted that players who opt for rakeback will earn points at half the rate of non-rakeback accounts. The rake calculation method utilized is the weighted-contributed model; this can be advantageous to experienced players and tighter players. Juicy Stakes also gives new players 25 free spins on a slot machine of their choice.
